A better way to spend $5.00...

SMALL STEPS FOR FEBRUARY 2ND

I felt hungry later in the day and I normally would have pulled through the drive thru.
INSTEAD I stopped at Kroger. I headed right for the fruit although I did not really feel like fruit. They have GREAT fresh, prepackaged stuff(I didn't bring my knife and cutting board), but it can be expensive. I wanted strawberries, but I chose cantaloupe because it was only $1.09. On my way out I saw a bag of fresh granola. I read some of the ingredients and it was made with Extra-Virgin Olive Oil, and it had oats, flax, sunflower seeds, and more yummy goodness. I was intrigued so I bought it. My bill went from $1.09 to 5.08...oh well! It's certainly better than the $5.04 that I would spend at the McDonald's drive-thru on a fish sandwich, small fries, and a caramel sundae.

***Sidenote on the granola......It had a cute picture of a jazz musician on it so I turned it over to see if it was made in New Orleans. GUESS WHAT!!??!! It is made RIGHT HERE in Covington, Kentucky...right down the street! It is called McCabe's Granola and it is made by McCabe's Foods, LLC......YUMMY DELICIOUS! Nice to know I'm supporting a local small business!!! I just looked it up on the web and it's a good story. http://www.mccabesgranola.com/ Check it out!!! They have four flavors and I happened to choose the Delta Blueberry (Oh...I get it...the blues...jazz..cool!) but I can't wait to try the other flavors!

I packed my lunch again.
I concentrated on squeezing my butt and thighs when I walked.

****As for these last two changes, I also did these yesterday...so do they count as new changes??? Or is it a change if I've already done it before? Hmmmm.... okay..how about this....Until it is a HABIT, I am going to use it as one of my small changes. I believe I've heard it takes two weeks of repetitive action to form a new habit. Until I feel like it's a habit, I will use it unless I try something NEW that day. How does that sound?

Have a GREAT day, everyone!!!
